Tucson Tails: senior dogs, cat for adoption at PACCby Karyn Zoldan on Aug. 28, 2013, under Adopt Me! Adopt Me! Adopt Me!, Cats Meow, Feline Fun, Dogs, Canines, Fun with Fido, Barking Encouraged
Update: Skipper is in foster care with FAIR (see below) & Andrew the cat is adopted!
Here are two nice senior dogs and one senior cat currently at PACC (Pima Animal Care Center/county pound) in need of rescue. When a dog or cat is SNA (special needs adoption), it’s often because of age.
Ali # 440018 is up for rescue for age. She is a very nice dog turned in by her owner. Ali previously lived with a couple and a 15 yr old. You can tell from her expression that she doesn’t understand why she’s at the kennel. She’s housebroken and lives inside. Ali obeys commands and is a good dog. She has been at PACC waiting a long time. Please share her. She would be perfect for a person looking for a low-key dog, companionship and loyalty.
Skipper #444886 might be old at 11 years but he still has a lot of love to give as a Golden Retriever mix. He has been at PACC since July 17. Prior to arriving at the shelter, he had to fend for himself on the streets. Skipper is possibly deaf and also needs teeth cleaning. He is an easy gentle walker and gets along great with his kennel mates that come and go. Poor Skipper is always left behind. Hopefully, someone reading this wants a Skipper in their life?
Update: Skipper is in foster care (hooray!) Please contact Tammi with Foundation for Animals In Risk (FAIR) if interested in meeting him! He is a SWEET boy. He needs to gain some weight because you can feel his bones, but otherwise appears healthy (likely will get a dental by FAIR). He does NOT having any hearing problems, at all. I’m sure it was just selective hearing at PACC! Kim at Kennel Comfort Pet Motel is giving him a much needed bath and great grooming…This senior is resting gently tonight. He is such a sweet soul. We’re just getting to know each other, but he loves holding hands. If anyone is interested in meeting Skipper, please let me know! He’s had a hard life and deserves a loving forever family SOON! More pictures and updates to follow. Update – ADOPTED! Andrew #A450164 is a 10 year old cat who has been at PACC since Aug. 21. He’s an orange male tabby, domestic short hair. No Kill Pima County will give a rescue group or an adopter $50 to rescue this senior boy.
