Tucson: Responsible Dog Ownership Celebration – October 19by Karyn Zoldan on Oct. 16, 2013, under Animal Events, Dogs, Canines, Fun with Fido, Barking Encouraged
This celebration — PITBULOOZA — is hosted by Pit n’ Proud at the Loft Cinema. It’s going to be a great pittie party in honor of National Pit Bull Awareness Month.
♥ IMPORTANT NOTICE: The festival portion of the event is outdoors and open to well-mannered dogs who are leashed, and friendly with both people and other pets. Dogs are not allowed in the theater. You can leave your pooches at home and come spend the day with the Ambass-a-Dogs and Therapy Dogs who will be in attendance instead. Just be sure to pick your pooch up a snazzy new collar or some yummy treats at the event.
The festival starts at noon and will feature the Tucson Food Truck Roundup, live music featuring John Shipe, educational speakers, family activities, local rescue groups with adoptable dogs, vendors, beer from Barrio Brewery Co., and the chance to meet amazing pittie Ambass-a-Dogs.
On hand will be vendors and experts for canine behavior, training, nutrition, and wellness to answer your questions plus freebies and a silent auction.
FILM SCREENING INFO:
As the festival concludes, the anniversary screening of Guilty ‘Til Proven Innocent begins at 5 pm. Tickets are $10. Here’s a synopsis of the film: “Guilty ‘Til Proven Innocent intimately examines the controversy of Breed Specific Legislation, investigates Ohio’s breed specific law from its inception, and uncovers the truth behind the misleading information of the most misunderstood dog…the Pit Bull. Do we have a dangerous dog breed problem, or just dangerous laws targeting dogs?” This film is a must see!
The Loft is located at 3233 E. Speedway Blvd. It sounds like a fun day.
