Coyote Howl Flash Mob – 4th Avenue Street Fair
Tuesday, December 6th, 2011Let’s howl as the day will be warmer and financially productive for the merchants and artists. Take part in spontaneous community unity happened this Saturday, Dec. 10 at 4:04 p.m. at various intersections of the 4th Avenue Street Fair.
There is no better place for this to happen. (You just know spontaneous howling would never happen at La Encantada shopping center.)
The group howl is sponsored by Common Ground Tucson, Harmony and Health Foundation, and SonicHarmonic.com
Why coyote howling?
–The coyote is one of the most adaptable and resilient native creatures of our amazing Sonora Desert of which we take so little care to preserve. Their howling is a method of reconnecting the pack, of sharing their interdependence as an extended family.
–Sound is vibration. According to quantum physics, everything is vibration. In particular, the vibration of sound travels easily and has the potential for huge influence, mental, emotional and therapeutic over large distances. We have in fact only barely scratched the surface of what the effects of sound/vibration are capable of.
–The experience of howling will be great fun otherwise known as JOY, which unites people, opens up the borders of individual bubbles of mind, and, for a moment, however briefly, there is a collective experience of joyous connection. Connection builds community. It takes a village or a pack.
Lastly, howling is easy, doesn’t need any initiation, belief or political agenda to join in. You just… join in and become a proud member of the pack. (Maybe before every political debate, it should start with 30 seconds of coyote howling?)
The sponsors are looking for people like YOU who want to actively take part (as well as just howl) in spreading the idea. Check out their facebook page and spread it far and wide as well as this blog post.
On December 10, gather at the SE corner of 4th Ave and 4th St (where the Common Ground booth will be set up) at 3 p.m. Join us in inviting others to participate and station yourselves for the big moment, when three air horn blasts will signal the time to HOWL, and invite everyone in sight to do the same.
Bring horns, megaphones, video cameras, if you can, and… lots of uninhibited friends.
For more information (and connection) come by 4th and 4th any time Friday and Saturday or call 520-229-6147
