Say no to duct tape

Animal News: mutts, horses, greyhounds, mad scientists, quote

Good News
Kudos to the Mutts comic strip which will be coming to theatres near you soon – 20th Century Fox’s animation division has hired Mutts creator Patrick McDonnell and his brother Robert McDonnell to write the script for a feature-length animated film.

Horse News
Navajos grapple with a feral horse problem. Check out this interesting article about feral horses roaming the Reservation and what some see as problems and some as solutions.

Bad News/Greyhound News
Months ago, degenerate Ronnie Williams killed 42 greyhounds as he left them to starve to death in his racing kennel at Ebro Greyhound Park in Florida. Some dogs had duct tape over their mouths. Williams’ defense lawyer tried to cop a plea bargain. Thank you Judge Christopher Patterson who denied a motion to dismiss 42 counts of felony animal cruelty. This case has received much black eye publicity from around the world whether from the greyhound racing world or animal advocacy. One thing both parties agree on – despicable. Perhaps this is a hard lesson for dog tracks everywhere – the owners of dogs tracks as well as the kennel operators are responsible for race dogs whether it’s racing season or not.

This Makes Me Sick News
A genetically-engineered beagle that glows green in the dark…all in the name of animal testing…I don’t think so. It sounds like a mad scientist to me. The article says that dogs aren’t hurt but who believes that crap. Animal testing is what it is – cruel and inhumane.

Quote
“One reason a dog can be such a comfort when you’re feeling blue is that he doesn’t try to find out why.”
