Tucson Pet Events: Cat Hoarding Concert, Wine Tasting/Cats, Desert Sharks, Dining
Fundraising benefit concert – June 26 — Cats and Jammers, A Concert for 40 Hoarded Cats at the Boondocks Lounge. From 5-10:30 p.m., a number of bands will play, including a local Tucson favorite, Chuck Wagon and the Wheelchairs (formerly Chuck Wagon and the Wheels). Suggested donation is $10 at the door; no one will be turned away for a lack of funds. The concert list is still evolving–and more information will be posted as it becomes available. Boondocks will donate $1 from every food order.
Hot Dogs & Cool Cats – June 26 – Casa de los Gatos has a wine tasting scheduled at CataVinos Wine Shoppe, 3063 N. Alvernon Way (1 block south of Ft. Lowell) on Sunday, June 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. The cost is $20 for six tastes of wine plus snacks. $10 of that is tax deductible. Come and drink wine, meet like-minded cat lovers, and partake in the silent auction.
Scott Kirby Concert Benefit – June 29 – The Desert Sharks Parrot Head Club and The Hut in Tucson are proud to present Scott Kirby in concert to benefit the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. The concert begins at 7 p.m. but doors open at 4 p.m. Tickets are $20 (children under 12 are free) and can be purchased by contacting Tamyra Althof at email@example.com or at The Hut the night of the concert. The Hut is located at 305 N. 4th Avenue, Tucson, AZ. Food will be available for purchase and The Hut promises some great drink specials. Don’t forget to check out the great raffle prizes including a wonderful weekend in San Diego. Winner need not be present.
Sundays in June from 5 to 10 p.m. (only one Sunday left) – Vila Thai Fine Cuisine at 9 E. Congress St. (@ Stone Ave.) will donate ALL of your food sales when you make a reservation and mention the Humane Society So. Ariz.
Philanthrophy with Phlavor – During the month of June, Pastiche Modern Eatery at 3025 N. Campbell Ave. will donate 5% of your food sales to the charity of your choice (animal or otherwise). This is an ongoing tradition every June & October and just goes to demonstrate how local Tucson restaurants are so altruistic. Pastiche rocks!

Of Mysteries, Mutts, & Greyhounds on July 5 at Clues Unlimited Bookstore at 3146 E. Ft. Lowell Road @ Country Club – 7 p.m. Meet the author David Rosenfelt who will be signing copies of his most recent book, One Dog Night. Buy chances to win your pet’s name to be in Rosenfelt’s next page turner. Chance purchases benefit GREY2K USA and Humane Society of Southern Arizona. 10% of book sales on July 5 will benefit HSSA.
