Tucson dog groomer: A day in the life – slideshow (see below)

Hot day. Dirty dog. Bath time!

Tucson Tails was so excited to be invited behind the hip entrance into the inner workings of Pet Designs Salon.

For the past 10 years I have patronized Pet Designs or I should say my greyhounds – Painter, Lily, and now Jett have been avid customers. Kevin Sarullo has been the proprietor of his own pet grooming business for 12 years (formerly on Columbus/Grant) and for the past two years at 2549 E. Broadway (323.9599) in the same shopping center with Tucson Tamale Co. and Benarda Animal Hospital.

First of all, the place is immaculate – from the waiting room to the inner sanctum. Let’s take a peek inside.

So what are the hairiest dogs? What about Chow, Newfoundland, and Samoyed?

Grooming and bathing prices vary depending on the breed, haircoat and haircut, as desired. Reservations are required for grooming; baths can be reserved or walk-in; nail clipping and teeth brushing walk-in. (Jett Greyhound gets his nails clipped every 5 weeks.)

Kevin and his staff also bathe and groom the dogs for Hope Animal Shelter so they can put their best paws forward in order to attract adopters for their forever homes. This service is complimentary as his way of giving back to help Tucson pets in need.

Mention the magic words “Tucson Tails” during the month of August and Pet Designs will give you $5 off your first visit.
