Hermitage Cat Shelter is seeking a full time and part time Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to work weekends. Duties include daily medications, administering fluids, blood work, monitoring the health and well being of resident cats. The candidate will also assist with taking in new cats, adoptions, and general shelter cleaning. The ideal candidate will be professional, knowledgeable, and detail oriented.
Must be familiar with:
• Blood draws
• Aseptic technique
• Medication administration (PO, SQ, IM)
• Vaccine protocols and administration
• Contagious disease treatment and prevention
• Feline viruses
• Shelter disinfection and sanitation
• Diabetes
• Basic lab work
The Hermitage Cat Shelter is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization supported entirely by donations. They are dedicated to the shelter, protection, and care of homeless cats, especially those that are often not considered adoptable by other organizations. They are both an adoption facility and long-term sanctuary for those felines who are “adoption-challenged.” including felines who are FIV or FeLV-positive, and other types of chronic health issues.
All of the kitties roam free within 8,000 square feet of outdoor/indoor living space.
