I got adopted!
Finding forever homes for senior pets is a cause near and dear to Tucson Tails heart. This month Tucson Tails blog will much focus on rescuing and adopting senior dogs and cats in our community and beyond.
Let’s put some big Pima County power behind this:
Shelters & rescues:
–Submit your senior dogs & cats looking for forever homes. Send a jpg or gif, name, age, sex, and a few lines or a story to posted here.
–Do you have seniors for seniors programs or services? If yes, please submit a link to that information. Or send the info to be posted here.
–Submit any outreach events or fundraising focused on seniors.
–If you are a senior sanctuary or rescue in Arizona or beyond, please send me your website so Tucson Tails can feature your organization.
–Do you have any input how more senior pets could be saved?
–Do you have ideas or connections how more senior pets could be placed with more senior people?
–If you adopted a senior cat or dog this year, please submit a photo and story about your beloved pet.
Puppies and kittens fly off the shelf. Adult dogs and cats are still in demand. But it’s the senior cat or dog, “the oldie but goodie,” that tugs at my heart strings, alone and confused in the shelter, often listed SNA (special needs adoption) just because of their age.
Instead of SNA, senior pets should be dubbed “special” in the best of ways…
