The Arizona Humane Society (AHS) has been cleared to go behind fire lines and begin efforts to rescue animals in need at the Yarnell Hill wildfire.
Their role is to provide a temporary animal shelter, animal care and any support to the Wickenburg Humane Society and the people and pets in the community.
So far a team of seven staff members, including one veterinarian, plus the mobile clinic will provide medical treatment to any animals in need. According to their website, they have enough food at this time but are in need of towels, blankets and 5-gallon buckets. Please drop off the needed items at AHS’ Sunnyslope shelter, located at 9226 N. 13th Avenue in Phoenix.
