The Arizona Wildcats’ football season of dreams has been significantly downgraded after a second-consecutive wrong turn in a crossroads game.

Gone are the visions of one of the greatest seasons in school history. Now the Cats have to win just to get back to Good.

It begs the question: Should there have been visions in the first place?

The weather has finally cooled off in Southern Arizona which means the college football regular season is winding down.

The pecking order among the top three teams in the Pac-10 is pretty clear with Oregon #1 in the land and Stanford a serious contender for a BCS bid. In the middle of the league you have five teams staggering along the 5-7 / 6-6 border.

So where does that leave Arizona?

Any Arizona fans still moping about the drubbing at Stanford need only to look at future Pac-12 South division-mate Colorado for a reminder that things could be much worse. It’s better to lose by 25 than to lead by 28…and lose anyway.
