The regular season is history for the Arizona Wildcats football team. That means it’s a great time to update the record books and see how the stars of 2010 compare with the greats of yesteryear.

The moment you’ve been dreading is here: The first weekend without Pac-10 football! But fear not. The Army/Navy game is on Saturday. Then it’s only a week until the first bowl games.

And, oh, by the way, there’s the Arizona Wildcats’ second-biggest non-conference game of the year. And you can watch online for free!

Almost Legendary: Nick Foles’ heroics tarnished by Arizona Wildcats loss in Territorial Cup

Some losses are more costly than others.

At first glance the Arizona Wildcats football team didn’t lose much by falling to Arizona State in the 2010 Territorial Cup game. The Cats still got an Alamo Bowl bid and the Sun Devils are still staying home for the holidays.

The UA relinquished ownership of the 111-year-old trophy for the first time in three years but the biggest shame in the (first) blocked extra point is it robbed Nick Foles of a legacy-defining moment in perhaps his final home game.

Remember It: Arizona Football gets big breaks in Alamo Bowl matchup with Oklahoma State

The Alamo Bowl remembered the Arizona Wildcats.

In a surprising turn of events the San Antonio-based bowl ignored the last month of the season and selected slumping Arizona over surging Washington to play in the Dec. 29 game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

After five weeks of frustration the Cats caught a break. The best available bowl with the highest possible payout against a top-15 team. No other 7-5 team got it so good.
