That’s a great way to put it: “nervously having a great time this year.” The team is so thin it could fall apart at any time but the guys are all buying in and they have a chance to make a solid run so we may as well enjoy the ride.

– One of the best posts I have read in a long time…. i could not agree more with this statement above. College ball will, forever, be more interesting to me than the pros because, for the most part, money is a non-factor and you are stripped down to the passion and development of each player. This season has been stressful to watch, but I have found that I am more attached to this team than any other cat team I have watched since the late 80′s. If they actually do coalesce, and dominate the second half stretch and make the tourney — how sweet it will be to witness the whole process!

This possibility has always been there. Perhaps in previous years – when this years players had other talents to defer to (like Williams and Jones) – they didnt strive to be ‘the guy’ and instead accepted roles.

This year – there is no one to defer to and to my great pleasure they are recognizing that they are ‘the guys’. How about the numbers for Hill, Fogg, Perry and Lavender? And all from effort as they transition from roles to being ‘the guys’. Its nice to see.

The freshmen are a work in progress – and doing well. I can see all three becoming nascent goto guys by the end of the year.
