Final End: Lute Olson’s last recruits have survived and continue to thrive

They are the last remaining ties to Lute Olson, the final players signed before the legendary University of Arizona basketball coach retired.

Seniors Kyle Fogg, Brendon Lavender and Alex Jacobson are the last remaining Cats of Chaos. They have witnessed controversy and turmoil. They lived through the Wildcat program teetering on the brink of collapse only to come roaring back under Sean Miller.

With wins in their final two home games Lute’s last players are making a run at one final NCAA tournament berth.

Last week was a missed opportunity for the Arizona Wildcats basketball team.

This week is all about necessity.

The UA’s realistic shot at a Pac-12 championship went away with the loss at Washington. All focus now is on the NCAA tournament resume and Arizona can’t afford any more losses.

Here Comes Fun: Arizona Basketball week of survival leads to week of opportunity

It wasn’t easy at home but the Arizona Wildcats took care of business against Colorado and Utah. Two wins were needed; two wins were recorded.

Next up is a trip to the state of Washington with first place on the line. These are the games you look forward to as a fan. Big stakes mean big fun.
