One Not Done: The Pac-10 champs need to go for more

The Arizona Wildcats are Pac-10 champions!

Sean Miller and his team do not have to feel ashamed about the league being down. Conference RPIs aren’t listed on championship banners. A coach’s bio never says, “He won his conference 12 times (but a couple of them were against some really crummy teams).” There is absolutely no reason to apologize.

The Cats will, however, have to apologize if they think their work is done.

Order Restored: Sean Miller makes things right in the Arizona-Arizona State basketball rivalry

The Arizona Wildcats basketball team beat Arizona State at the McKale Center in Tucson.

That’s more like it.

The Sun Devils made a run (or at least a brisk jog) in the second half but at the end of the day the Cats led for the final 30 ½ minutes of game time to give Sean Miller his second win against our neighbors to the north.

Only 41 more to go.

Goodbye Again: Lute Olson and the Arizona Wildcats suffer one last defeat

The Lute Olson Era has finally ended.

We thought it ended March 16, 2007, the date of Olson’s final game as coach. Or maybe you preferred March of 2009 when the last of Lute’s former assistants said goodbye. But it turns out the true final day of Lute Olson’s direct influence on Arizona Wildcat Basketball was July 29, 2010, the day the NCAA handed out punishment for the violations committed beginning in 2006.

It wasn’t supposed to end this way.
