Ben Affleck was the host of Saturday Night Live this past weekend and he got a chance to publicly explain his Oscar speech comments about his marriage to Jennifer Garner being “work.”

He continued, “We’ve worked together on our marriage. And then some uncharitable souls on the Internet took that to meant our marriage was some kind of manual labor. No, that’s not it. You define what’s important to you by what you dedicate your time to. And my wife knew exactly what I meant.,” he said.

He invited her on stage to “disprove the naysayers.” A smiling Jen appeared onstage.

“Tell the people what I meant by marriage is work,” he asked her.

“It’s a way we talk privately about how committed we are to our marriage,” she explained, adding, “Not sure why you had to share that live to a billion people, but …”

She said, “I would have said thank you to my wife. Our marriage is a GIFT!”

And went on to say, “If we’re going to be completely honest here, why don’t we mention who does all of the work?”

“That’s too inside,” said Ben. “The people don’t want to hear that!”

He then said he wanted to tell how how he “wished” he had ended the Oscar speech.

He turned to her and said, “I couldn’t do any of the things I do without your support. You’re my angel, my life and my world.”

She replied, “You’re reading that.”

Cut to a cue card. “Yeah, it’s true. But I love you,” he said.

“Thank you. You’re a lot of work,” she replied.

Kanye West is letting loose again.

The rapper gave an f-bomb-filled rant about paparazzi, SNL and his own celebrity at the Adult Swim upfronts Wednesday night when he performed at the Roseland Ballroom.

According to Complex magazine, which posted some video from the TV industry event, Kim Kardashian’s sweetie and father-to-be didn’t hold back during his hour-long set.

“One thing about me, I’m the worst kinda … celebrity because all I do is make real music. All I do is sit in the studio and make real, real (bleep). And that’s it,” he said, half-singing.

“That’s mother (bleeping)ing it. … So I don’t want nobody trying to run up on me with no cameras, trying to sell pictures and sh– to magazines, asking me no dumbass questions, throwing me off of my focus …” he continued. “Harassing you all (bleeping) day. I ain’t no (bleeping) celebrity.”

What might have prompted the anti-camera part of the tirade is that on Friday, Kanye was snapped by photographers as he walked into street sign in Beverly Hills, bumping his head. Ouch!

And few days later, he was snapped having trouble driving his Lamborghini through the gates at Kardashian’s house.

All of this is coming as Kanye is set to be the musical guest, while Ben Affleck is the host of the season finale of Saturday Night Live this weekend..

In his upfront performance rant, Kanye said a friend asked him whether he planned to go on SNL and ” ‘do, like, a skit about the paparazzi and … like humanize yourself?’”

Kanye’s response: “I ain’t here to apologize to no (one), man. It ain’t about me humanizing myself. At what point did I become un-human where I had to turn myself back? Or maybe I was demonized. Or maybe I was treated inhumane and not human in that kind of situation.”

He added, “I’m trying to make some music that inspires people to be the best they can be. I don’t want nobody to ask NOTHING ELSE OF ME. Don’t ask nothing else of me. …. nah I ain’t doing no (bleeping) SNL skits … this my … life. This ain’t no (bleeping) joke. That’s it.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs makes a fine addition to Downton Abbey, or he as calls it “Down Town Abbey.”

The music mogul tweeted that he was starring on the show, sending the Web into a tizzy on Wednesday.

After all, PBS did announce on May 1 that Downton had cast its first black character.

There was such excitement over the news that PBS had to clarify to Reuters that it was “not true” that Diddy was a new regular on the cast.

But Diddy does star in a new spoof of the show that was posted at FunnyorDie.com at midnight. “I love it here at Down Town Abbey!” he shouts.

In it, his Lord Wolcott visits all areas of Downton and urges Lord Grantham to invest in “a little company named IBM. You may not know about it, but out kids will love it.”

The video, says Diddy, offers “some real masterpiece theater.”

Source: USA TODAY

ABC announced on Tuesday that Dancing With the Stars, a victim of sagging ratings, is cutting back to one night a week — performances and results in the same show — for Season 17 in the fall.

But that didn't seem to dim the spirits of a jovial 300th episode and semifinals results show.

After Monday's performances, the show's two professional athletes, NFL star Jacoby Jones and Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, were tied at the top of the leaderboard. Country singer Kellie Pickler followed. Disney star Zendaya had an uncharacteristically low spot, taking fourth place. Soap star Ingo Rademacher was at the bottom of the pack.

It was pretty obvious that it was time for Ingo to go home.

Here's how it played out:

Right off the bat, we learned that the first star going to the finals is Jacoby, with pro partner Karina Smirnoff.

Next up: Kellie and Derek Hough performed an encore of their perfect-scoring Argentine tango that started out showing off their perfect lines in silhouette.

Sophia Lucia, 10, of San Diego was then spotlighted. "I train 40 hours a week. When I dance, I feel like the happiest girl on Earth," she said, explaining that in March, she broke the Guiness Book's world records for most pirouettes — 55. Pro Chelsie Hightower returned to the ballroom with three dancers to join the little girl, who sported one dance shoe and one ballet slipper, for a hair-flinging performance that included more of those pirouettes.

In a "most embarrassing moment" segment, USA TODAY blogger Mark Ballas revealed that Aly likes to steal bracelets from the show.

And then The Wanted performed Fill a Heart, followed by Avril Lavigne, who performed a new single, Here's to Never Growing Up.

Next up: Kellie and Derek were told they're going to the finals.

Zendaya and pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy were told they were in jeopardy (which no one believed).

And Ingo and partner Kym Johnson were told they were in jeopardy (which everyone believed, but some in the crowd still booed).

Aly and Mark were told they're going to the finals.

In the end, Ingo was eliminated.

"This has been an amazing experience," he said. "I thought I was going to be done after two weeks."

ABC announced on Tuesday that Dancing With the Stars, a victim of sagging ratings, is cutting back to one night a week — performances and results in the same show — for Season 17 in the fall.

But that didn’t seem to dim the spirits of a jovial 300th episode and semifinals results show.

After Monday’s performances, the show’s two professional athletes, NFL star Jacoby Jones and Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, were tied at the top of the leaderboard. Country singer Kellie Pickler followed. Disney star Zendaya had an uncharacteristically low spot, taking fourth place. Soap star Ingo Rademacher was at the bottom of the pack.

It was pretty obvious that it was time for Ingo to go home.

Here’s how it played out:

Right off the bat, we learned that the first star going to the finals is Jacoby, with pro partner Karina Smirnoff.

Next up: Kellie and Derek Hough performed an encore of their perfect-scoring Argentine tango that started out showing off their perfect lines in silhouette.

Sophia Lucia, 10, of San Diego was then spotlighted. “I train 40 hours a week. When I dance, I feel like the happiest girl on Earth,” she said, explaining that in March, she broke the Guiness Book‘s world records for most pirouettes — 55. Pro Chelsie Hightower returned to the ballroom with three dancers to join the little girl, who sported one dance shoe and one ballet slipper, for a hair-flinging performance that included more of those pirouettes.

In a “most embarrassing moment” segment, USA TODAY blogger Mark Ballas revealed that Aly likes to steal bracelets from the show.

And then The Wanted performed Fill a Heart, followed by Avril Lavigne, who performed a new single, Here’s to Never Growing Up.

Next up: Kellie and Derek were told they’re going to the finals.

Zendaya and pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy were told they were in jeopardy (which no one believed).

And Ingo and partner Kym Johnson were told they were in jeopardy (which everyone believed, but some in the crowd still booed).

Aly and Mark were told they’re going to the finals.

In the end, Ingo was eliminated.

“This has been an amazing experience,” he said. “I thought I was going to be done after two weeks.” He praised his partner for creating dances that were suited to his “two left feet.”

Hader, 34, an eight-year veteran of the NBC show, will end his stint with the season finale on Saturday.

Source: USA TODAY

Our five still-standing Dancing With Stars stars — Kellie Pickler, Aly Raisman, Zendaya, Jacoby Jones and Ingo Rademacher — gave it their all in Monday's semifinals in two rounds featuring very different dances.

Who impressed judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli?

Just about everybody! The 10 paddles were flying. It's coming down to a tight ending of Season 16. One star will go home Tuesday, sending four to next week's finals.

Here's how Monday's performances played out:

ALY RAISMAN: "I feel like this week is the biggest week of all," said the Olympic gymnast as she and USA TODAY blogger Mark Ballas worked on a high-energy Afro jazz dance and a slow and passionate rumba. Polar-opposite dances. First up was their rumba, in which her character was spurning Mark's advances to Bruno Mars' When I Was Your Man. Carrie Ann screamed: "Way to go! ... You were all woman out there!" Len loved that it had "romance but wasn't raunchy. ... You have grown. Well done!" Bruno said, "You had us all enchanted. ... The flow of the movement. You just did it perfectly, darling." Scores: 10, 10, 10

In the back story segment of her life, Aly's dad talked about how much energy Aly had as a little girl. Her mom said Aly loved gymnastics and started competing when she was 7. But for all her determination, brother Brett said she "likes to goof around a lot." Gabby Douglas was shown among other pals, saying, "She has what it takes to win that mirror-ball trophy."

Aly's Afro jazz dance with Mark was tribal. The two wore headdresses and danced barefoot around a set that included totems, rocks and a zebra-striped ballroom floor. There was a lot of shaking, rolling on the floor and hopping around. Carrie Ann said it was "ridiculous," adding that "people don't know how hard of a dance that is." Len loved the interpretation but nitpicked about wanting more connection between the two of them. Bruno called Aly a "warrior princess" who has "exceeded all expectations." Scores: 10, 9, 10 = 29 Total: 59

JACOBY JONES: "Can't get a 10 to save my life," said an annoyed Super Bowl champ during rehearsals as he and Karina Smirnoff worked on their two dances. During the camera blocking on Sunday, Karina flipped over Jacoby and hit her jaw. Their first dance, an Argentine tango, showed no signs of issues — jaws or otherwise. Jacoby flipped and swirled Karina around the floor in sexy fashion. The crowd loved it. Len loved it: "Mood! Intensity! That was great!" Bruno called them "animals," saying the "sexual tension was unbearable." He added it was "slick and refined." Carrie Ann "got all heated up" and threw her hair around, saying nothing. Scores: 10, 10, 10 = 30

Jacoby's mom, Emily London Jones, talked about how her son always wanted to be a football player. His high school coach said he was skinny. His aunt said he "didn't realize" he was too small. But he persisted. Now, he says, he has told his Baltimore Ravens coach that if he wins the mirror-ball trophy, he's going to put it next to the Lombardi Super Bowl trophy at the Ravens facility.

Jacoby's Lindy Hop with Karina put to use all of his fast-dance skills, along with his ability to do splits, jumps and rolls. The two got up on top of the judges table and pretended to play trumpets as part of the dance. It was high-energy, to put it mildly. While Jacoby leaned over to catch his breath, Len said it was action-packed, even though he got on the wrong foot at the start. "Full-on fabulous!" Bruno said he "nailed it, man." Carrie Ann voted him the "No. 1 entertainer of Season 16." After the dance, Jacoby told Brooke Burke-Charvet, "Right now, I am not joking, I'm half-dead. ... I shoulda did Afro jazz!" Scores: 10, 9, 10 = 59

KELLIE PICKLER: Derek Hough said he had never done the flamenco before, so he had to learn it. In rehearsals, the pro looked fine and didn't appear to be struggling at all as he talked it over with partner Kellie. "Derek and I have worked so hard," Kellie said. And it showed on the dance floor for their first performance, an Argentine tango that started off in silhouette — a genius way to show off Kellie's amazing, perfect, sultry lines. Sporting a short, dark wig, Pickler popped her kicks and flicks, delighting the judges with her skills. Len, who was grumpy last week, raved, "Close the door! Call me Mary! That was fantastic! ... I loved it!" Bruno said the silhouette section was "pure perfection." He likened Kellie to Chita Rivera. "It was superb, my darling." Carrie Ann agreed, saying, "It's absurd that you can attain that level of perfection in silhouette." Scores: 10, 10, 10 = 30

Family members told Kellie's story of her mother abandoning her and her father going to prison as she made her way to American Idol. "I literally went from roller-skating burgers out to live on a tour bus, write songs and sing for people. That's the only thing I've ever wanted to do." Her dad teared up, saying Kellie has always showed him "unconditional love." Kellie says now that through the show, she has realized she has a real passion for dancing. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood are rooting for her.

Her flamenco with Derek was fascinating as his feet clicked around the floor. He was shirtless, and she had on a ruffled dress. They ended the number with Derek lifting her up and completely spinning her around and down to the floor. Len said, "Kellie, you're small, but your talent is huge!" Bruno said there were a few moments where he thought she "tightened up," but it was "very good." Carrie Ann agreed with Bruno, saying she tensed up halfway through. Kellie blamed it on her heavy dress. Scores: 9, 10, 9 = 28 (The crowd booed, since Bruno showed a 10 paddle, but he quickly scrambled to pull out the 9.) Total: 58

ZENDAYA: The Disney star was happy to be doing hip-hop and quickstep. Her experience with hip-hop — she's been doing it for eight years — would give her a definite edge, but her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, had no experience with the dance, so Zendaya brought in Kim Sims-Battiste, her first hip-hop teacher, to give him some pointers. "You can't smile like that when you do it, Val!" she said. In the ballroom, their first dance was the quickstep, which they performed dressed as race-car drivers. It was unconventional, fast and all over the place. Bruno called it a "quickstep for the next generation." He said, "It was so fast and so furious, you were hardly able to breathe." He said she lost her footing a couple of times. Carrie Ann said it was "kind of a mess." It was "innovative," but it was "off." Len liked her hold and frame, but the speed took over at times. "I was out of breath just watching it." Scores: 8, 8, 9 = 25

Zendaya's parents, Claire Stoermer and Kazembe Coleman, weren't expecting a little girl. They were thinking a boy was on the way. A boy who would play basketball, because Claire is 6-foot-4, and Kazembe was coaching basketball. But instead, they got sweet and shy Zendaya, who, as a little girl, watched her mom every day in her job as house manager at a theater. Once Zendaya got onstage, she knew that's where she belonged. Her father took her to L.A. to start a career, separating the family for almost two years when she was 13 and 14. It was tough but paid off when Zendaya landed a role on Disney's Shake It Up. She hopes to "continue this upward spiral to my dreams!"

Her second dance definitely showed off her hip-hop experience, as she and Val scooted around the floor in their sneakers. Said Bruno, "Get out of here. ... So cool, it gives me chills." Carrie Ann loved it. Len liked the "cheekiness" and said it had "great rhythm." Scores: 10, 10, 10 = 30 Total: 55

INGO RADEMACHER: "We may be the underdogs, but let's not count ourselves out," pro Kym Johnson told her partner, soap star Ingo, who has scored lower than all the other semifinalists all season long. "We're definitely not going to go down without fight," he said, working on his samba and Charleston. On the dance floor, his first number, the samba, involved a lot of hip thrusting, but it wasn't going to get him 10 paddles no matter what. Bruno said he could see Ingo "put the work in, my darling," but also noted that he lost his timing. Carrie Ann said it was "still just a bit inconsistent." Len thought Ingo "did a good job with a difficult dance." He apologized to viewers for all those hip thrusts! Scores: 8, 8, 8 = 24

Ingo grew up in Germany, and family members say he was always competitive. When he was 10, the family underwent a huge lifestyle change when his parents moved to Australia to live on a self-sufficient farm. He moved to L.A., got a job on General Hospital and bought property in Hawaii. That's where he met his wife. They have two kids. His son, Peanut, 4, is a regular in the ballroom.

Their second dance, a Charleston, was filled with flapper fun, ending with the two up on a grand piano. Bruno raved about it: "Fun, fun, fun!" Carrie Ann thought it was "fantastic!" Len said it was "bubbly" and noted that it was "a good time to do your best dance."
Our five still-standing Dancing With Stars stars — Kellie Pickler, Aly Raisman, Zendaya, Jacoby Jones and Ingo Rademacher — gave it their all in Monday’s semifinals in two rounds featuring very different dances.

Who impressed judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli?

Just about everybody! The 10 paddles were flying. It’s coming down to a tight ending of Season 16. One star will go home Tuesday, sending four to next week’s finals.

Here’s how Monday’s performances played out:

ALY RAISMAN: “I feel like this week is the biggest week of all,” said the Olympic gymnast as she and USA TODAY blogger Mark Ballas worked on a high-energy Afro jazz dance and a slow and passionate rumba. Polar-opposite dances. First up was their rumba, in which her character was spurning Mark’s advances to Bruno Mars’ When I Was Your Man. Carrie Ann screamed: “Way to go! … You were all woman out there!” Len loved that it had “romance but wasn’t raunchy. … You have grown. Well done!” Bruno said, “You had us all enchanted. … The flow of the movement. You just did it perfectly, darling.” Scores: 10, 10, 10

In the back story segment of her life, Aly’s dad talked about how much energy Aly had as a little girl. Her mom said Aly loved gymnastics and started competing when she was 7. But for all her determination, brother Brett said she “likes to goof around a lot.” Gabby Douglas was shown among other pals, saying, “She has what it takes to win that mirror-ball trophy.”

Aly’s Afro jazz dance with Mark was tribal. The two wore headdresses and danced barefoot around a set that included totems, rocks and a zebra-striped ballroom floor. There was a lot of shaking, rolling on the floor and hopping around. Carrie Ann said it was “ridiculous,” adding that “people don’t know how hard of a dance that is.” Len loved the interpretation but nitpicked about wanting more connection between the two of them. Bruno called Aly a “warrior princess” who has “exceeded all expectations.” Scores: 10, 9, 10 = 29 Total: 59

JACOBY JONES: “Can’t get a 10 to save my life,” said an annoyed Super Bowl champ during rehearsals as he and Karina Smirnoff worked on their two dances. Len loved it: “Mood! Intensity! That was great!” Bruno called them “animals,” saying the “sexual tension was unbearable.” He added it was “slick and refined.” Carrie Ann “got all heated up” and threw her hair around, saying nothing. Scores: 10, 10, 10 = 30

Jacoby’s mom, Emily London Jones, talked about how her son always wanted to be a football player. His high school coach said he was skinny. His aunt said he “didn’t realize” he was too small. But he persisted. Now, he says, he has told his Baltimore Ravens coach that if he wins the mirror-ball trophy, he’s going to put it next to the Lombardi Super Bowl trophy at the Ravens facility.

Jacoby’s Lindy Hop with Karina put to use all of his fast-dance skills, along with his ability to do splits, jumps and rolls. The two got up on top of the judges table and pretended to play trumpets as part of the dance. It was high-energy, to put it mildly. While Jacoby leaned over to catch his breath, Len said it was action-packed, even though he got on the wrong foot at the start. “Full-on fabulous!” Bruno said he “nailed it, man.” Carrie Ann voted him the “No. 1 entertainer of Season 16.” After the dance, Jacoby told Brooke Burke-Charvet, “Right now, I am not joking, I’m half-dead. … I shoulda did Afro jazz!” Scores: 10, 9, 10 = 59

KELLIE PICKLER: Derek Hough said he had never done the flamenco before, so he had to learn it. In rehearsals, the pro looked fine and didn’t appear to be struggling at all as he talked it over with partner Kellie. “Derek and I have worked so hard,” Kellie said. And it showed on the dance floor for their first performance, an Argentine tango that started off in silhouette — a genius way to show off Kellie’s amazing, perfect, sultry lines. Sporting a short, dark wig, Pickler popped her kicks and flicks, delighting the judges with her skills. Len, who was grumpy last week, raved, “Close the door! Call me Mary! That was fantastic! … I loved it!” Bruno said the silhouette section was “pure perfection.” He likened Kellie to Chita Rivera. “It was superb, my darling.” Carrie Ann agreed, saying, “It’s absurd that you can attain that level of perfection in silhouette.” Scores: 10, 10, 10 = 30

Family members told Kellie’s story of her mother abandoning her and her father going to prison as she made her way to American Idol. “I literally went from roller-skating burgers out to live on a tour bus, write songs and sing for people. That’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do.” Her dad teared up, saying Kellie has always showed him “unconditional love.” Kellie says now that through the show, she has realized she has a real passion for dancing.

Len said, “Kellie, you’re small, but your talent is huge!” Bruno said there were a few moments where he thought she “tightened up,” but it was “very good.” Carrie Ann agreed with Bruno, saying she tensed up halfway through.

Her experience with hip-hop — she’s been doing it for eight years — would give her a definite edge, but her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, had no experience with the dance, so Zendaya brought in Kim Sims-Battiste, her first hip-hop teacher, to give him some pointers. “You can’t smile like that when you do it, Val!” she said.
INGO RADEMACHER: “We may be the underdogs, but let’s not count ourselves out,” pro Kym Johnson told her partner, soap star Ingo, who has scored lower than all the other semifinalists all season long. “We’re definitely not going to go down without fight,” he said, working on his samba and Charleston.
