CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson keeps digging into ATF “gunwalker” scandalby Hugh Holub on Apr. 29, 2011, under atf, border issues, grassley, politics, project gunrunner
CBS Reporter Sharyl Attkisson has been chasing the ATF Gunwalker scandal with a determination and skill comparable to Woodward and Bernstien’s efforts to unmask Watergate….and the ATF scandal keeps growing and festering into an albatross that is hanging around the necks of officials higher and higher in the Obama administration.
Her latest report involves House and Senate committtee investigators descending on Phoenix….
CBS News has learned that House and Senate investigators have descended upon Arizona for their probe into the so-called “Gunwalker” scandal. They’re gathering interviews from witnesses, including ATF insiders and area gun shop owners. Sources tell CBS News the congressional investigators are frustrated by what they view as across-the-board stonewalling by government agencies which have refused to provide information in the investigation. Government officials have said they won’t provide information while their own investigations are ongoing.

What is becoming more and more obvious and disturbing is how little attention the Arizona media is paying to this story given that it has two major links to our area…the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and the ATF Gunwalker scheme originating out of Phoenix that resulted in 2 ATF “walked” guns turning up at the murder scene of Agent Terry.
Hats off to a dedicated group of bloggers like Mike Vandervoet and Dave Codrea who first exposed this story and to Sharyl Attkisson for taking it from blogland into the national consciousness.
