As I said before, give them a ten-year work permit that is renewable one time, once the border is closed, the economy has recovered, and Fortress America is complete. After that, they go home. No citizenship, no voting, no changing minds; just a self paid ticket back home to enjoy the savings and fruits of their labor. ONCE OUR PEOPLE ARE BACK TO WORK WE CAN CONSIDER TAKING MORE. NO MORE BUSH/CLINTON FLOODS OF ECONOMIC REFUGEES

That forces them and their inept governments to improve their own quality of life, because they WILL be going back someday; and stops making it a false choice of coming here hoping for another amnesty or staying home and living hand to mouth. So somebody tell the Trojan Horse Republicans that we WILL NOT simply open the borders for all comers, despite her racial politics.

This is garbage Hugh, and you know it. In Reagan's time they had earthquakes killing the economy down there, not the self-inflicted wound of drug cartels. We can't risk the kind of destabilization that these guys take for granted and consider commonplace. Also, if legalizing everybody is so necessary, why are so many of US still out of work? I don't eye this debate as opening opportunities to the third world, I eye it through the lens of maintaining the opportunities that we have for my sons. There is a finite amount of opportunity in this country until the economy improves, and it's time we put our own people first. It might be different, but if we could trust our own government then why is the Obama administration covering up Fast and Furious and why did Bush immunize every child in Iraq, but ignore the outbreaks of measles and tuberculosis we had in these illegal immigrant communities? We even had Leprosy in Arkansas brought over by Pacific Islanders who overstayed their visas. And it spreads through the air.
