AZ Football is a sleeping giant.

The only other team that plays as big of an offensive line is USC the rest of the way. Our defensive line is fast but they are small and that was exposed by Stanford. Foles reminds me of the 9-3 years of Ryan Leif at WSU (not Ryan Leif the pro; the college student). Having three consecutive games of a QB rating averaging 150, AZ has never had a QB like that. Foles is a potential Heisman candidate next year. Back that with a young defense and a healthy defense, AZ has a top 10 team. Right now, they can run pretty stealthy. Will not get a lot of fan fair for beating WSU and UCLA. Probably not enough still to get ranked. However, work out a few more kinks, UA does have a favorable match up with Cal (i.e. last year’s slotter) and has Oregon at home. Remember, when the defense decided to play Oregon last year in the second half, they almost won that game. Could AZ be 9-2 going into the USC game with the Pac title on the line? There is a path for this now. Use WSU and UCLA to continue to work out some problems; get our starting defensive line back who notable players missing, keep everyone healthy, etc. Important note – Foles is not even getting knocked down. His vision and height is so good, he is keeping himself from taking any serious hits. That combine with his stats is going to change UA football history.
