$250K is a lot of money to donate. That shows his commitment to the program. It doesn’t matter how much we pay him. Whatever we were willing to pay to get him was a fair market value to him. He could get paid $5M and didn’t have to donate a cent.

If the players put on size and maintain their speed and quickness….that’s a very good thing! Love the fact that Bejarano is coming in at 6’5 and 200. Mayes and Perry need to get stronger and put on more lbs. This facility potentially accelerates the rebuilding process.

It’s always an arms race in athletic facilities, which impacts recruiting, and the story does mention some of the trickle-down effects Miller thinks the new weight room/training facility will have.
He also mentioned (although I did not include it in the story) that there are different kind of weight machines that are, for example, more beneficial to a 7-footer than, say, a 320-pound offensive lineman.

I thought the previous weight room was advertised as spacious, state of the art, ahead of its time, etc. If that is the case, why the need for another separate weight training facility?
