Cats secondary is still learning. Each game provides tape to learn from and get better. Given a 6-1 record and going forward against some of the better teams, they will get burned from time to time but it will get harder for teams to do that. So the secondary ends up being responsible for 2 extra touchdowns a game. 44-28 over the UW would still be a good win. Arizona is an offence machine ramping better every game. Foles gets healthy and I would like to see both play like Smith and Jenkins did. Force the other teams to have to prepare for both. If the offence keeps its production high; the defense just needs to be good; not great or amazing; just good. And they are. The only downside to the AZ team is if we hit a game where both the offence and defense are having an off night the same night. That is what makes Arizona a very solid 9-3 team this year; it is going to happen. They will loose two of these: Stanford, Oregon, USC. Very respectable, better than last year, good bowl and a promise to get it done next year. AZ may just be the first winner of the Pac 12.

To hell with the typos. Its always good writing. We are just glad we have some professional sports writers in the TC.

I was worried about Scott this week. I am proud of hos performance. I have confidence in him. Just think, two great QB. at the U of A.... ASU be afraid, be very afraid.

Vegas,

It's hard to forget Oregon State's Ryan Katz looking like a Heisman candidate against Arizona a few weeks ago, but that is the only major blip, I think, against the pass defense. Iowa got its yards, Washington State got its yards ... but nothing egregious, and you have to give some credit to those teams for having good pass-catch combinations.

Arizona is 38th nationally in passing efficiency defense, which is not bad, especially considering teams are generally having trouble running against the Cats.

I'm as curious as any to see if the Arizona defense can hold up against the stronger offenses still on the schedule -- Oregon, USC, Stanford (even ASU, on occasion). Your pessimism could end up being justified. We'll see.

Sorry about the typos; I hate them as much as anybody. Fixed them.

To answer your question: No. As a community blog site, each blogger is responsible for the content of his or her posts. It's a little different with our Sports Network partners, though, because they are paid a small stipend through a grant from J-Lab. As the grant manager, I can edit other sports blogs in the network for accuracy and clarity, etc.

These typos aside, I think our tag-team of sports bloggers has shown professionalism and greatly added to the discussion of Arizona athletics in the past year.

Does anyone proof these articles before they go live?
"It would quick a show of hands of those who saw that coming."
"said linebacker Derek Earls, who, as a junior college transfers, was one of the unknowns."
Really? As a Wildcat fan all I ask is that you show some professionalism and represent our program well.

Call me a pessimist but this is the same UA defense that's been shredded through the air on more than one occasion this year. Locker IS their offence and he was hurt. The Wildcat offence was again the success story last night. They had the Huskies on their heels the entire game. The defence has lots of strengths but also glaring weaknesses.

At UCLA the Cats only true concern will be overconfidence so a check is already in my win column. No doubt the Cats will go as far as the offence takes it.
