The major college hoopdom deities were not too kindly towards the Arizona Wildcat squad yesterday in Orange County. Go figure.
Basically, no Wildcat lost this game or neither did Miller and his staff get out foxed by the elderly, tempermental Calhoun.
Just check out the stat's. The game was basically even-steven, except for a few fortunate bounces and whistles going UCONN's way.
By the way, most teams in the N.C.A.A.'s would abso-LUTE-ly get bloody MOLESTED, if said N.C.A.A. Tournament squad was to shoot 4-21 from beyond the arc. ' Zona rowdies, that's 4-21 from the 3-PT line! So, let that sink in you-all's craniums.
Yet, your Arizona Wildcat squad had the opportunity to tie and or win the game with approximately 20 ticks left on the tic-toc-clock. Get outta' here.
Again, the preternatural college basketball overlords looked unfavorably on Arizona Saturday. That's all.
By the way, I personally counted EIGHT OPEN LOOK's at the basket, by these NEVER-SAY-DIE young Wildcats. That's 8 uncontested 3-pointer's which happen not to swish through the net for the Wildcats. Bloody ouch.
And for the few true loyal Wildcat fans which posted on above, I give a sincere thank-you for not bloody throwing Horne under the ' Zona Crimson and Blue bus.
Because, there's other " supposedly " Wildcat rowdies whom are taking unkindly shots at Horne over at the local Tucson newspaper. But that doesn't surprise moi!

Courtesy_Flush...you're a tool. The Duke game was a fluke because in the next game we lost by 2, took the last shot of the game with a change to win in the Elite 8, oh btw D-Will was on the bench for nearly 3/4 of the first half? Are you kidding me? I will not give you a courtesy flush....I'd rather let you stew in the stink and missery that is your life.

No way, flush; prior game was not a fluke. With Derrick having an off night, this team hung with UConn for forty minutes and was an inch away from going to the Final Four. Nothing to be ashamed of and a very far cry from our Sweet 16 performance, a 39 point blowout at the hands of Louisville, two years ago.
Arizona is back. As Miller said in the press conference, this team will return with more talent and a chance to go deeper in the tournament. But this year was very special. This team is one that I will remember very fondly. Among those fond memories will be Jamelle doing everything the coaches asked of him, the consummate team player. If he had been coached by Miller for four years, he'd be off to the NBA (if not gone already). The year under O'Neill really messed him up; destroyed his confidence. Great kid. I wish him only success.

As just a fan of the game (not a Wildcat) I thought the shot was going in, too. They deserved to win based on the way they played the whole tournament... But then, so did Florida the same way earlier Saturday. With the foul trouble, it was amazing Arizona was able to hang in there, roar back, and have such a high quality shot at the end. And this story does a great job of capturing the moment and the emotions involved. That game makes me more of an AZ fan than ever, actually.

If there is any consolation for Jamelle, I don't think any fan thought the three pointer was a bad shot or didn't have a chance to go in. A year and a half ago, we probably would have collectively shouted, "No!!!". Good shot. Just missed.

For all the ups and downs, the play I have decided to remember Jamelle by is his offensive rebound, spin around, and dunk on Duke. Awesome! Good luck Jamelle!
