The Arizona Wildcats, putting some of the final touches on their recruiting class, have added one of the top prospects in the state.
Peoria Centennial offensive lineman Layth Friekh committed to UA over Washington on Monday morning.
He also held offers from, among others, Arizona State, Boise State, Colorado, Oregon, Oregon State, Nebraska and Utah through the recruiting process.
Friekh is Arizona’s highest-rated recruit, according to 247Sports, which rates him 155th nationally and puts him at No. 4 in the state.
Friekh is a four-star recruit by 247Sports, and a three-star recruit by Rivals.com and Scout.com. Friekh (6-5, 260) still needs to add weight and strength, but is considered the have excellent footwork and technique, as well as the frame to get bigger.
