Lee Walker and a couple of his San Diego Madison High football teammates visited the Arizona campus earlier this week. He committed before he left.
Walker, a receiver/defensive back, told Wildcat Sports Report (a TucsonCitizen.com partner) that he was impressed with the campus and the facilities, which includes the under-construction Lowell-Stevens Football Facility in the north end zone.
“I was amazed,” Walker told WildcatSportsReport.com. “I never knew the Arizona Wildcats had all of that.”
Walker, who indicated he will get a first look as a receiver/returner, is not yet rated by the major recruiting services.
He visited UA with Madison High receiver Michael Garner and three-star running back Pierre Cormier. They attended Monday’s practice. Walker committed on Tuesday.
Walker gives coach Rich Rodriguez 23 committed players in his first full recruiting class. Three-star cornerback Darius Allensworth de-committed from Arizona earlier this month, saying he will make a final commitment Aug. 16. The Wildcats remain in the picture, along with Cal and Wisconsin, according to 247Sports.
