Arizona’s recruiting run continued over the weekend when they received a verbal commitment from Woodland (Tex.) High School’s Michael Cooper. Cooper is a 6-5, 205 pounder who can play both tight end and defensive end.
“They recruited me for both defensive end and tight end,” Cooper told WildcatSportsReport.com’s Chris Bonney “They said wherever I play earliest is where I’ll play and I don’t really care where I like them both.”
Cooper committed to co-offensive coordinator Seth Littrell and knew right away Arizona was the place for him.
“I just knew I wanted to go to Arizona and I feel pumped and I’m so excited to get out there.”
He has committed to an official visit this fall, but has no set plan for when he will hit town. Cooper had over 10 scholarship offers, but only two BCS schools had offered, Arizona and Duke, however, Cooper was getting a lot of attention after participating in the summer camps and combines.
He wants to major in business.
