Pac-12 Picks Week Three
by Brad Allis on Sep. 17, 2011, under Arizona Wildcats Football, SportsColorado State @ Colorado:
This used to be a pretty good rivalry, but now both teams kind of suck. The bad news for both squads is the best team in the state resides in Colorado Springs and is a service academy.
Colorado 31, CSU 14
(24) Texas @ UCLA:
Last year UCLA stunned Texas in Austin, so you know the Longhorns want revenge. Texas is still not a top-10 team, but they will beat the Bruins.
Texas 24, UCLA 10
Washington @ (10) Nebraska:
To paraphrase Rick Pitino: Jake Locker is not walking in through that door. Let’s re-cap. Nebraska went to Seattle and dismantled the Huskies. A few months later the Huskies blew out the Huskers in the Holiday Bowl rematch. Take the home Huskers in this one.
Nebraska 44, Washington 20
Missouri State @ (12) Oregon:
This is one of those games that piss me off that the NCAA allows teams to count I-AA teams toward bowl eligibility. It’s one thing if the Ducks play a homestate team like Portland or Portland State, but to fly the team formerly known as Southwest Missouri State halfway across the country for an @$$ kicking is wrong. They should make the Ducks ineligible for a BCS bowl game for scheduling this one. Well that and paying $50,000 for a back-up running back who is now playing at Baylor.
Oregon 69, Missouri State 20
Presbyterian @ California:
See my post above, except Cal is not a top-five team and won’t be getting a BCS invite.
Cal 54, Presb 12
Washington State @ San Diego State:
If Washington State was at full strength it would win this one. The Cougs aren’t and they won’t. SDSU 31, WSU 30
[b-(22) Arizona State @ Illinois:[/b]
If this was in Tempe I’d take the Devils and still think they have a chance to win (Damn, that was hard to type). If the Devils win this one, 10 wins is a real possibility.
Illinois 24, ASU 17
Syracuse @ USC:
Syracuse is improving and USC has looked pedestrian. That is still not enough to get the Orange a win in Los Angeles. Expect USC to go out early, then look bored most of the game, but make enough plays to win.
USC 21, Syracuse 10
Utah @ BYU:
Utah has not looked impressive, while BYU has played well in two tough road games. The Cougs are at home and they win this one.
BYU 21, Utah 20
Stanford at Arizona
Before the season I picked Arizona to win this one, but now I am not so sure. I still think Stanford is a tad overrated, but I did not like the way Arizona looked in Stillwater. I am REALLY worried about the defensive line and think Stanford will run all over them. I am also not sure that the Cats can put pressure on Andrew Luck and think he will be able to have all day to throw, which makes him deadly. I do believe the Wildcat offense will improve.
Final Score: Stanford 45, Arizona 31
Last week: 9-1
Season: 20-2
