Great job Jonathan! I was dismayed when I read the star article… Glad you were available to set the record straight regarding the mine in the foot hills “on top of Mt. Lemmon”.

To Fraser007: the mine was accessed by the roads on the north side of the mountain. The mine traffic did not mix with tourist/resident traffic on the Catalina Highway.

The concentrate was hauled down the north side through an active mining town. Only two trucks a day. No outcry.

The story said the mine shipped concentrate which is a powder. I don’t recall any outcry when the mine was working.

The Star comments were flooded with mining employees! Can you imagine what the road coming down Mt. Lemmon look like with rocks flying off of the trucks!

Thas OK just have our cars drive slow down Mt Lemmon or just sto your cars near their entrance. Road blocks!!!
