DeeDee Garcia Blase does not own therealpenzone.com – She supports the Mike Stauffer for Sheriff Campaign, not Arpaio
by Dee Dee Garcia Blase on Oct. 11, 2012, under 2012 Arizona Elections, joe arpaio wastes millions of tax payer dollars, Mike Stauffer for Sheriff to Replace Joe ArpaioNow I have heard every thing.
Evidently people are crying a river because they think I own a website called therealpenzone.com. I don’t own that site. Upon investigation, I discovered someone from Oklahoma owns it. You can see it here. I did notice that Oklahoma site hyperlink to stories I have written, and the author of that blog is clearly an Arpaio supporter, and I am no Arpaio supporter. I would rather burn in hell than to support a man like Arpaio who is responsible for the death and killing of a Latino veteran in the Maricopa County jail.
Now that I am being falsely accused of owning http://therealpenzone.com/and being a Sheriff Joe Arpaio supporter, let me set the record straight:
I want the independent candidate Mike Stauffer to win and beat Sheriff Joe Arpaio because as an independent voter, I believe partisanship does not belong in the Maricopa County Sheriff race. More importantly, I have simply done the math and have discovered that there are 36% registered Republicans, 35% registered Independents and only 29% registered Democratic voters. In other words, due to the numbers….a democratic candidate doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell. This is why the Maricopa County Democratic has not been able to oust Arpaio for 20 years to no avail. Independent registered voters swing conservatively in our state and that is precisely what Mike Stauffer is — an independent fiscal conservative who can take over the Maricopa County Sheriff office on Day 1 with his education and experience. Stauffer has an advanced degree and the experience to lead the 3rd largest County Sheriff’s department in our Nation. Both the Republican and Democratic candidate have a high school degree.
Furthermore, Sheriff Joe Arpaio has written a soliciting letter to his supporters accusing me of attacking him and called me a “liberal democrat” even though I was a registered Republican at the time. I used to be a life long Republican, but the extremism I witnessed caused me to leave the GOP for good and I changed to an independent registered voter for life.
Obviously I am going to support the 2nd largest voting bloc in our county via the independents. I also support PROP 121 because extremism is ruining our State of Arizona.
Do I work for the Stauffer campaign?
No. I have never been on any political candidate’s payroll — ever.
Do I guest blog on numerous sites?
Yes, I do. I guest blog on NUMEROUS sites and I believe in social networking that enhances my ability to exercise my freedom of speech and expression via my political opinion.
Am I in charge of the Independent Expenditure paving the way for independent law enforcement?
No, I am not in charge of that nor am I on any sitting board of IE’s or SuperPAC’s against Arpaio. The persons in charge of the ‘independent’ SuperPAC is a public relations firm that has a reputation of fighting for the Martin Luther King holiday when a boycott against the NFL games was being considered and left a stain in Arizona history. One of the men considering the independent SuperPac flew to Africa and was instrumental in Nelson Mandela’s cause. Even though people did ask me to charge a SuperPAC against Arpaio — I respectfully turned it down because I do better at grassroots activism.
I hope this clears the air from the conspiracy theorists that are out there wearing tin foil hats.
LET ME BE CLEAR: I AM AN INDEPENDENT REGISTERED VOTER WHO SUPPORTS MIKE STAUFFER FOR SHERIFF TO REPLACE ARPAIO.
Here are my reasons why I support independent candidate and prop 121 supporter Mike Stauffer for Sheriff:
About Mike Stauffer:
I am a 29-year police veteran.
I believe strongly in the rule of law as guided by the founding principles of the United States. I believe in providing professional law enforcement and public safety services to all Maricopa County residents. I am guided by the Constitutional principles of due process and equality under the law as originally intended by the Founding Fathers.
I am concerned with the current state of law enforcement in Maricopa County. The constant string of lawsuits and lack of cooperation on the part of the Sheriff’s Office with other law enforcement agencies has seriously degraded the quality of public safety in the county. The current sheriff has turned away from crime prevention and suppression in favor of political grandstanding and expansion of power. I pledge to work to improve inter-agency communication and cooperation between all law enforcement in Maricopa County on all levels.
“The “go it alone,” “rule through fear and intimidation” attitude of the Arpaio administration is inappropriate in dealing with today’s public safety issues. What is needed is strong cooperation and mutual respect between law enforcement leadership and personnel in Maricopa County. This new relationship will strengthen our ability to insure the safety and quality of life for all residents of Maricopa County. We will work together with all local, state and federal law enforcement and homeland security agencies to make this our top priority.” I have been a member of the law enforcement community since 1983.
I began my career with the NYPD as an Auxiliary Police Officer, while earning my undergraduate degree in Government at St. John’s University. Upon graduation, I went on to a full time career with NYPD. I worked as a patrol officer in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I served as one of the first canine handlers in the NYPD’s Canine Unit. I worked in the elite Narcotics Division in Manhattan as a narcotics investigator.
I came to Maricopa County in 1991 and joined the Scottsdale Police Department. I have served as a patrol officer and patrol sergeant. I also served as the department’s Staff Lieutenant, supervising the Internal Affairs Unit, the Public Information and Media Office, and the Budget Office. Currently,
I am serving as a Patrol Watch Commander in the Patrol Division in Scottsdale’s Downtown District. In addition to serving the community in crime prevention I am an online instructor for the Criminal Justice program at the University of Phoenix. I am an instructor of Constitutional Law at the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy.
I have been married to my wife, Grace, for 27 years. I am the proud father of three successful young adults.
