Philanthropy: Who gives?

Here’s a look at some of the philanthropic efforts of Tucson businesses:

w Robert K. “Bob” McCord, chairman of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, recently presented The Hearth Foundation with a personal check for $10,000. The Hearth Foundation has provided shelter for thousands of women and children since 1987. The Foundation runs two shelters and three transitional housing units. The gift will go toward a new four-plex facility.

w The Pines Golf Club at Marana in April offered a special deal to golfers who donated nonperishable food for the Marana Food Bank. For a $30 savings off a round of golf, 104 golfers took advantage of the “Chip In” offer.

w The KB Homes Charity Golf Tournament in April raised $55,000 for the Tucson Boys and Girls Club, almost doubling last year’s donation of $28,000.

Citizen Online Archive, 2006-2009

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.

For all of the stories that were archived by the Tucson Citizen newspaper's library in a digital archive between 1993 and 2009, go to Morgue Part 2
