Update: Glenn closed west of Craycroft

Glenn Street will remain closed to all traffic from Woodland to Cloverdale avenues through at least this work week, after a portion of road gave way during work to repair a leaking reclaimed water line.

Through traffic on Glenn is barred from Craycroft to Swan roads until further notice.

Crews for Tucson Water were fixing a leaking underground pipeline this afternoon when a section of the roadway gave way due to saturated ground, Mitch Basefsky, spokesman for Tucson Water, said.

No one was injured in the incident.

But traffic is barred from the area until officials determine the extent of the problem.

“We don’t want buses and other heavy vehicles on the roadway,” Basefsky, at least until crews can determine the extent of roadway undermining caused by the leaking 30-inch reclaimed water main.

Citizen Online Archive, 2006-2009

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.

For all of the stories that were archived by the Tucson Citizen newspaper's library in a digital archive between 1993 and 2009, go to Morgue Part 2
