All should be back to normal in Marcus Williams’ world. He will be back in Arizona’s lineup today when the Wildcats host No. 4 North Carolina. Williams had been suspended for one game for what was described as “violating team rules.”
In essence, Williams screwed up, letting down his teammates. Not good. At some point Williams will realize it’s hurting him, too. At some point, he must realize NBA personnel will ask what happened. They get background checks, they speak to the media who cover the team. They talk to the coaches. They don’t need to know “on-the-record” information. Eventually they find out.
They also find out how a player deals with the media, how he deals with adversity, how he interacts with his teammates.
NBA types aren’t going to spend a ton of money on someone who disappoints too often. Maybe eventually, Williams will find that out.
