Southwest Gas: Brace for steep bills from cold snap

Southwest Gas Corp. has issued a consumer alert, hoping to brace customers for steep bills this month after unusually cold weather in January.

For customers who want to challenge their natural gas bills, the Arizona Corporation Commission will review bills and check for discrepancies, spokeswoman Heather Murphy said. Call (800) 222-7000.

Customers having problems paying their bills can contact Southwest Gas to make payment arrangements or to see if they qualify for the Low Income Ratepayer Assistance program in Arizona. Call (800) 428-7324.

Qualifying Pima County customers with short-term financial problems may be eligible for one-time assistance through:

● Pima Community Action Agency, 243-6688

● Tucson Urban League, 623-4388.

Citizen Online Archive, 2006-2009

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.

For all of the stories that were archived by the Tucson Citizen newspaper's library in a digital archive between 1993 and 2009, go to Morgue Part 2
