Arizona sophomore forward Marcus Williams is expected to announce his decision whether to enter the NBA draft this week.

Williams will have a news conference at 2 p.m. Thursday at McKale Center.

University of Arizona coach Lute Olson on a couple of occasions late in the season said he would be “shocked” if Williams returned. Last week, Olson said nothing had changed and that he was just waiting for the announcement.

Williams, who earned All-Pac-10 honors this season, averaged 16.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Williams, 6-feet-7 inches, has generally been sliding in on-line draft projections.

“Is Marcus ready for the NBA? No,” said Chris Monter of the NBA Draft News.

“He could use more seasoning at the college level. Does he have potential? Yes. He has a lot of size and has had the ability to play a number of different positions.”

Citizen Online Archive, 2006-2009

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.

For all of the stories that were archived by the Tucson Citizen newspaper's library in a digital archive between 1993 and 2009, go to Morgue Part 2
