Tucson loses heartbreaker to Fresno in 14 innings

Fred Lewis hit a two-out, bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 14th inning to give Fresno a 5-4 win over the visiting Tucson Sidewinders on Tuesday.

Rich Thompson went 4 for 6 with a run scored for Tucson, which fell to 9-9 on the season.

Adam Bass (0-1) took the loss, allowing one unearned run in 1 1/2 innings.

Kevin Frandsen and Nate Schierholtz each had four hits for the Grizzlies.

The Sidewinders are off today and return home Thursday for an eight-game stand, beginning with a 6:30 p.m. contest against Portland.
