‘Winders come from 6 down to beat Bees

The Tucson Sidewinders capped a big comeback with two runs in the top of the ninth to beat Salt Lake 10-8 on Friday.

The Bees had led 6-0 in the second inning.

In the ninth, Chris Carter followed three straight singles by hitting an RBI single to left that put Tucson ahead 9-8. Alex Romero later scored on a sacrifice fly by Jamie D’Antona.

Tucson’s Mike Schultz picked up his second save of the season. Brandon Medders (5-2) earned the win for the Sidewinders.

Alberto Callaspo hit a two-run homer in the fifth to help Tucson narrow the lead to 6-4. He finished with three hits and three runs scored but left the game in the ninth after injuring his leg.

The ‘Winders (67-58) scored four times in the seventh, capped by Romero’s second three-run homer in as many nights. Tucson remains six games behind Sacramento in the Pacific Coast League South Division.

Citizen Online Archive, 2006-2009

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.

For all of the stories that were archived by the Tucson Citizen newspaper's library in a digital archive between 1993 and 2009, go to Morgue Part 2
