El Rio health center to open eco-friendly clinic on SE Side

El Rio Community Health Center will begin construction next week on a “green” clinic for Southeast Side residents.

The clinic, at 6950 E. Golf Links Road, just west of Kolb Road, will be the community health center’s 16th clinic.

This will be El Rio’s first eco-friendly clinic and will be certified by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, a part of the U.S. Green Building Council. The building also qualifies for a grant from Tucson Electric Power to incorporate a solar-based power system.

El Rio will host a groundbreaking at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The building is expected to be completed in late 2009.

Citizen Online Archive, 2006-2009

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.

For all of the stories that were archived by the Tucson Citizen newspaper's library in a digital archive between 1993 and 2009, go to Morgue Part 2
