WHO

Kory DeBerry, So., Sunnyside

WHAT HE DID

DeBerry, the younger brother of four-time state champion Kyle DeBerry and son of Sunnyside coaching great Bobby DeBerry, wrote another chapter of his own story in the 2008-09 season.

His second straight state championship (he won as a freshman at 135 pounds and this season at 140 pounds) further placed him in his own spotlight. He went 44-5 this season and was named first team All-State by the state’s wrestling coaches while also helping lead the Blue Devils to their 12th-straight state title and 28th overall.

QUOTABLE

“If Kyle did it, Kory was going to do it and try to do it better,” Bobby DeBerry, Kory’s father and Sunnyside wrestling coach.

Citizen Online Archive, 2006-2009

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.

For all of the stories that were archived by the Tucson Citizen newspaper's library in a digital archive between 1993 and 2009, go to Morgue Part 2
