Three crashes mar morning commute; radar van starting near Duffy Elementary

The morning commute was off to a rocky start by shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday as Tucson police investigated two traffic collisions in the city and the Sheriff’s Department investigated a third in the unincorporated county.

They were:

• At North Alvernon Way and East Fort Lowell Road a non-injury collision, reported at 7:11 a.m.

• At East 22nd Street and South Kolb Road a non-injury collision, reported at 7:04 a.m.

• In the 4100 block of East Valencia Road, east of Alvernon Way, a collision with undetermined injuries, reported to sheriff’s deputies at 7:08 a.m.

RADAR VAN

The Tucson police photo radar van and its crew will be assigned to watch for speeders at the following places and times:

• In the 5100 block of East Fifth Street near Duffy Elementary School, from 7 to 10:30 a.m.

• West Grant Road between North Oracle Road and Interstate 10, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

• North La Cholla Boulevard and West 36th Street near Henry Oyama Elementary School, from 2 to 5 p.m.

• East Broadway near Campbell Avenue, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well.
