Ronald N. Hatcher Jr. joined the Tucson office of Snell & Wilmer LLP as counsel. Hatcher, who has an extensive background in real estate, including commercial leasing, purchase and sale, financing, land use and zoning, development and landlord/tenant matters, will focus his practice on complex real estate and business transactions. Hatcher joins the firm after more than 10 years as a partner in Hatcher & Oden PLC.

Dr. Emmanuel Katsanis, a professor of pediatrics and chief of the section of pediatric hematology/oncology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, has been named one of five “Leading Edge Researchers” at UA. Katsanis, who is also the Louise Thomas Endowed Chair in Pediatric Cancer Research at UA’s Steele Children’s Research Center, was honored at UA’s sixth annual Innovation Day celebration that recognized research achievements of students, faculty and staff. He was recognized for his groundbreaking research in the development of a novel cancer vaccine – CRCL – which is nearing human clinical trials.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.
