Madagascar’s president was overthrown in a coup led by the island’s most popular radio talk show host. It’s amazing. To most people, Madagascar is a remote island nation in the Indian Ocean. But to Rush Limbaugh, it’s a shining city on a hill.

The White House sent liberal groups door to door to urge passage of the budget bill. It’s an all-out push. To build support for the package, the secretary of the Treasury will meet with small businesses: General Electric, AIG and General Motors.

President Obama said he’s closing Guantanamo no matter what Dick Cheney says about it. The problem of where to put the detainees is easily solved. We’ve got empty bank vaults from coast to coast and detainees will be safer there than the money was.

Citizen Online Archive, 2006-2009

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.

For all of the stories that were archived by the Tucson Citizen newspaper's library in a digital archive between 1993 and 2009, go to Morgue Part 2
