Traffic: Mission reopened after corrections officer shot in leg

A corrections officer was shot in the leg outside the jail early Tuesday, said a Pima County Sheriff’s spokesman. Police were still working in the area.

South Mission Road near the Pima County Jail was reopened by 7:25 a.m.

No further information was available at 7:30 a.m.

A couple of collisions also clogged up Tucson streets on No Housework Day.

• East Speedway Boulevard and North Swan Road, a collision with injuries reported at 7:01 a.m.

• South Houghton and East Valencia roads, a collision with unknown injuries reported at 6:53 a.m.

The Tucson police radar van will be in the following locations:

• 7 to 10:30 a.m. near Los Amigos Elementary School in the 22000 block of East Drexel Road.

• 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on South Sixth Avenue between Drexel and West Bilby roads.

• 2 to 5 p.m. near the school crossing at Hudlow Elementary School in the 500 block of North Kolb Road near East Kingston Drive.

• 5:30 to 9 p.m. near the construction zone on East Grant Road near Craycroft Road.

Citizen Online Archive, 2006-2009

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.

For all of the stories that were archived by the Tucson Citizen newspaper's library in a digital archive between 1993 and 2009, go to Morgue Part 2
