It’s Easter time: Give pets new lives

Sigourney

Sigourney

Sigourney – Casa de los Gatos

Sigourney is a 2-year-old female tuxedo cat with a fun and outgoing personality. She loves to play and purr and have her tummy rubbed and is waiting for a forever family to take her home. Her adoption fee includes spaying, vaccines, tests, microchip and a free vet exam. For more info on Sigourney or the many other cats and kittens with Casa de los Gatos, visit CasaDeLosGatos.org online or call 881-0900.

Bonkers – Humane Society

Bonkers is a nice older gal who just wants to be loved. The 7-year-old spayed retriever mix was brought to the shelter along with a younger dog because the family felt they didn’t have enough time to give them. The other dog has been adopted and now Bonkers is on her own in a strange place. She’s a sweetheart who has been good in the house, gotten along with kids and dogs, and loves to play ball. This is a mature dog who would be a great companion in any home where she’ll receive the care and attention she deserves.

If you’d like to give Bonkers plenty of love and a place to call her own, please pay her a visit at the Humane Society’s Adoption Center, 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd. Hours are 11 a.m. -6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-5 p.m. on Sundays. For more information, call 327-6088 or visit hssaz.org online.

Cooper – Casa de los Gatos

Cooper is a 6-month-old male Chow mix. This puppy is extremely affectionate and playful, and especially loves children. He also gets along well with cats and dogs. Cooper is very smart, walks well on a leash and knows basic commands. His adoption fee includes neutering, vaccines, microchip and a free vet exam. For more info on Cooper or the other dogs with Casa de los Gatos, call 881-0900 or visit CasaDeLosGatos.org online.

Jasper – The Hermitage Cat Shelter

Jasper came to the Hermitage from the only home he’s known his whole life – a great family that faced foreclosure. Jasper is a short-haired domestic 12-year-old male, up to date on all of his shots, neutered, declawed and healthy. He is loving and easygoing. He even obeys commands such as “here kitty” and “up.” Jasper is anxious to find a new loving home because all the other Hermitage cats have claws and he’s becoming intimidated. He also has a sister, Amber, who needs the same home. They both love loving

See Jasper at The Hermitage Cat Shelter, 5278 E. 21st St., which is open 1-4 p.m. Monday, Thursday and Friday; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The $45 adoption fee covers current vaccines, microchip, trial pet insurance and lots of cat care information. Call Monica at 571-7839 Ext. 3 or visit hermitagecatshelter.org for details.

Citizen Online Archive, 2006-2009

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.

For all of the stories that were archived by the Tucson Citizen newspaper's library in a digital archive between 1993 and 2009, go to Morgue Part 2
