A man walked into the Wells Fargo office at 7080 N. Oracle Road, about 4:45 p.m. April 7, dressed as a woman, and robbed the bank, authorities say.
A man dressed in drag who robbed a Northwest Side bank branch April 7 is being sought by Pima County sheriff’s detectives.
The man dressed as a woman walked up to a teller at Wells Fargo, 7080 N. Oracle Road, about 4:45 p.m., implied that he had a gun in his purse and demanded money, Deputy Dawn Barkman said.
The man wore a short blond wig and sunglasses and carried a large black purse, Barkman said. He was wearing white tennis shoes, a nurse’s coat and pants.
He was described as 5 feet 3 to 5 feet 4 and 40 to 50 years old.
The robber left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash that contained an ink pack that went off in a cloud of colored dye, Barkman said.
No gun was seen during the robbery and no one was injured.
Anyone with information about the man or his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
