Hazards, crashes could slow commute; radar van on East Side

Tucson police were working two traffic hazards and two collisions that could slow commuters.

The incidents were:

• At East 22nd Street and South Jefferson Avenue, an unspecified traffic hazard, reported at 7:20 a.m.

• At South Craycroft and East Golf Links roads, an unspecified traffic hazard, also reported at 7:20 a.m.

• At East Rainsage Street and South Rita Road, south of East Valencia Road a collision with a bicyclist, reported at 7:04 a.m.

• At North Alamo Avenue and East Speedway Boulevard a non-injury hit-and-run, reported at 6 a.m.

RADAR VAN

The Tucson police photo radar van and its crew will be assigned to watch for speeders at the following places and times:

• The 300 block of South Harrison Road near Gridley Middle School, from 7 to 10:30 a.m.

• East Speedway Boulevard between North Harrison Road and North Camino Seco, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

• Near the school crossing on East 22nd Street near South Treat Avenue, from 2 to 5 p.m.

• East Golf Links Road between South Camino Seco and South Kolb Road, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.
