The nitty-gritty of how to replace former Tucson City Manager Mike Hein is up for City Council discussion Tuesday.
Councilwoman Nina Trasoff sent a memo Monday to other members of the council and city staff to add the talks to the April 21 agenda.
“The citizens of our comunity and city staff deserve certainty in knowing how we, as Mayor and Council, will proceed in identifying a new city manager,” Trasoff wrote.
Among the items she requested be included in a report from Human Resources Director Cindy Bezaury that day are whether to conduct a national search, the timing and cost of a search and whether to ask acting City Manager Mike Letcher to delay his retirement.
He had planned to retire at the end of November.
Hein was fired by council vote April 7. He had been Tucson’s top bureaucrat since 2005.
