Friday is National Blah Blah Blah Day, the intent of which is for all of us to take care of those projects people have been nagging us to do. While some people take on the biggies – quitting smoking, starting a diet – a lot of other Blah Blah Blah observers just tackle the piles of paper and other assorted detritus that has accumulated on their desks at work or home. Break up your humdrum day of chores by visiting one of these five eye-opening, local eateries:

BRUNDOG’S ZY-DE-QUE

4825 N. First Ave., 887-2333, 11:30 a.m.-8:30 Mondays-Saturdays

Tucson’s only Cajun eatery has plenty of lively selections, including the fiery, homemade Habanero Duck Sausage appetizer.

BUNBUKU JAPANESE CUISINE

4520 E. Broadway, 325-6953, 11:15 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. daily

Break the standard meal routine with Japan’s version of Tapas-style, small-plate dining – Izakaya – while you sip your ake.

EL CUBANITO RESTAURANT

1150 E. Sixth St., 623-8020, 11:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays

Now that spring training is over, the throng of Latin baseball players that flock to Tucson’s lone Cuban eatery has waned enough to more easily enjoy the Ropa Vieja, Black Bean Soup and papaya shakes.

SULTAN PALACE RESTAURANT

943 E. University Blvd., 622-2892, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. daily

Tucson’s only Afghan eatery serves a great, reasonably priced dinner and a dynamite lunch buffet at its new digs in the UA-area Main Gate Square center.

ZEMAM’S ETHIOPIAN CUISINE

2731 E. Broadway, 323-9928, 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 4:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesdays-Sundays

Eat with your hands at Tucson’s only Ethiopian eatery, where you scoop up the vibrantly seasoned offerings with freshly made flat bread.

Citizen Online Archive, 2006-2009

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.

For all of the stories that were archived by the Tucson Citizen newspaper's library in a digital archive between 1993 and 2009, go to Morgue Part 2
