Haley – The Hermitage Cat Shelter

Haley is a long-haired female torti cat with a very sweet and “go with the flow” disposition. Though she’s only 9 months old, Haley has been through a lot. She was rescued off a ranch in the desert and brought to the Hermitage two months ago. Just days after arriving, she gave birth prematurely to three kittens; they didn’t survive. Haley was spayed and nurtured back to health. She now lives in the shelter – healthy, microchipped and ready for a loving home. Her tender personality makes her great with people; she just wants to be safe and loved.

See Haley at The Hermitage Cat Shelter, 5278 E. 21st St., which is open 1-4 p.m. Monday, Thursday and Friday, and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The $55 adoption fee covers current vaccines, microchip, trial pet insurance and lots of cat care information. Call 571-7839 or visit hermitagecatshelter.org for details.

Fifi- Humane Society

Fifi is a fluffy tortie-tabby cat in need of a home because her owner signed a no-pet lease in their rental. The 3-year-old female is somewhat shy with new people, but with patient and kind attention, she’ll soon fit into a new routine. She loves to be petted – a good thing, because she’ll need regular brushing and combing to help keep her beautiful coat at its best. She’s been good in the house and gotten along well with kids.

Come visit Fifi and see if you think she’d be the perfect addition to your family. She’s waiting now at the Humane Society’s Adoption Center, 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd. Its new hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday; noon-5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 327-6088 or visit hssaz.org.

Jamie – Casa de los Gatos

Jamie is a 2-year-old male Maine Coon mix with a sweet and loving personality, although he is a little shy at first. He likes to play and purr and gets along well with other cats, especially his brother Jimmy. Jamie is looking for a Forever Family that won’t mind his crinkly ear caused by an injury. Jamie’s adoption fee includes neutering, vaccines, tests, microchip and a free vet exam. For more info on Jamie or the many other cats and kittens with Casa de los Gatos, call 881-0900 or visit CasaDeLosGatos.org.

Citizen Online Archive, 2006-2009

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.

For all of the stories that were archived by the Tucson Citizen newspaper's library in a digital archive between 1993 and 2009, go to Morgue Part 2
