Tucson woman killed this weekend near near Queen Creek

A Tucson woman was killed this weekend in a two-car collision on Interstate 10 near Queen Creek.

Della Margaret Mays, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on westbound I-10 near the Riggs Road, according to a press release issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Mays had been riding a white 2000 Nissan Pathfinder when the collision occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Pathfinder was heading west on I-10 when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed the median into oncoming traffic.

The Pathfinder collided with a blue 2008 Honda CRV SUV and then rolled over onto the right shoulder of the road.

The drivers of both vehicles along with a passenger in the CRV were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Authorities are still investigating what caused the driver of the Pathfinder to lose control.

Citizen Online Archive, 2006-2009

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.

For all of the stories that were archived by the Tucson Citizen newspaper's library in a digital archive between 1993 and 2009, go to Morgue Part 2
