Hazard on Miracle Mile & 2 crashes reported; radar van on East Side

Tucson police were investigating a traffic hazard and two collisions by shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday that could slow commuters.

They were:

• At North Burrito Avenue and West Miracle Mile, an unspecified road hazard, reported at 7:07 a.m.

• In the 8300 block of East Fourth Street, near East Speedway Boulevard and North Pantano Road, an collision with undetermined injuries, reported at 6:59 a.m.

• In the 600 block of West Calle Margarita, a non-injury collision, reported at 6:55 a.m.

RADAR VAN

The Tucson police photo radar van and its crew will be assigned to watch for speeders at the following places and times:

• The 300 block of South Harrison Road near Gridley Middle School, from 6 to 9:30 a.m.

• East Wrightstown Road between North Brown Avenue and North Day Road, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

• Tucson Boulevard near East Broadway near St. Ambrose K-8 School, from 1:30 to 5 p.m.

• East 22nd Street between South Craycroft and South Swan Roads, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

This archive contains all the stories that appeared on the Tucson Citizen's website from mid-2006 to June 1, 2009.

In 2010, a power surge fried a server that contained all of videos linked to dozens of stories in this archive. Also, a server that contained all of the databases for dozens of stories was accidentally erased, so all of those links are broken as well. However, all of the text and photos that accompanied some stories have been preserved.
