ANGULO, Anita C., 97, of Tucson, died January 11, 1996. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel Angulo. She is survived by children, John G. (Angnes) Angulo of Tucson, Norma Padrez of Nogales, AZ, Caroline (John R.) Smith of Tucson, Sylvia (Larry) Leinenbach of Tucson; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 15, 10:00 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father Mark Padrez O.P. officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday, January 14, 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed at 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the SS. BRAUN, Howard J., 83, died January, 9, 1996. Survivors include wife, Sancy Comer; children, Brenda B. Even of Tucson and Michael C. Braun of Elmhurst, IL; six grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Cyril Braun of Floosmoor, IL, Ermin J. Braun of Belleville, IL, William J. Braun of Decatur, IL, and Walter C. Braun of Belleville, IL. Mr. Braun was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Phi Sigma Kappa Social Fraternity, U of I Alumni Assn, Varsity Member of I Men’s Club, won 6 Varsity letters at U of I in basketball and tennis, Asst. Men’s Basketball Coach 1937-1967 under Harry Combs and served in Navy WWII as Lt. Cmdr. He was Public Relations Commercial Bank, President Worden Martin Leasing 67-77. Visitation was held Friday 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Owens Funeral Home, Champaign, IL 217-352-4231. Memorial Services 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, St. Matthew Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. DOYLE, Berry A., 32, died January 12, 1996. Survived by father, Bud Doyle; mother, Peggy Summers, both of IN; brothers, John and Jim Doyle of IN; sisters, Tammy Doyle and Leigh Petersen of Tucson; half-brothers, Joey and Tim Doyle; half-sisters, Julie and Gail, all of IN; two daughters, Amber and Sherry, both of Tucson; 16 nieces and nephews. HOLLIS, Florence B., 89, of Tucson, died January 10, 1996. Preceded in death by John R. David (Nancy). Survivors include daughter, Marguerite Carmichael of Tucson; brother, Philip Brandenburg of Tucson; six grandsons, Tom Moore of TX, Dennis Moore of Tucson, John Moore of TX, Michael Davis of Tucson, Robert David of GA, Charles Davis of Phoenix; five great grandchildren. Florence worked at the Santa Rita Hotel from 1929-1931. She worked for the Pioneer Hotel for 40 years and retired after the tragic fire. Services will be private. LEE, Rita M., 59, died January 11, 1996. Survived by her husband, Lloyd Lee of Tucson; daughters, Charlotte (Dominic) Palazzo of Phoenix and Rosanna (Arthur) Murtha of Los Angeles; grandchildren, Renatta and Addrianne Palazzo and Joshua Murtha; brother, David Perkins of NM; three nieces also survive. Mrs. Lee was a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Church, and a member of the choir. She was a child care provider and will be loved and missed by all those she cared and loved for. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society, P.O. 13126, Tucson, 85732-3136 would be appreciated. McCARTHY, Charles, 57, of Tucson, died January 8, 1996. Mr. McCarthy graduated Magna Cum Laude in Who’s Who in American Colleges, St. Anselm’s College in NH, 1960, Masters Degree, University of St. Louis 1962, Public Health Services, 1963-1964, Master of Fine Arts, Columbia University 1969. Mr. McCarthy is survived by wife, Penelope; daughter, Suzanne Macdhomhail; son, Michael McCarthy; mother, Margaret McCarthy; brothers, Lawrence, Richard and Robert McCarthy. MULLEN, Richard F., 89, died Thursday, January 11, 1996. Survived by loving wife, Sondra; daughter, Marilyn Jones of Rochester, NY; nephews, Ed Hyland and Ronald K. Mullin of Tucson, William Mullin; niece, Patricia Wooward; sister-in-law, Louise Mullin of Utica, NY; grandnieces, nephews and many friends. He was a WWII Vet served as MP; was president of Chapter #99 of the Teamsters Union in Rochester, NY; served as president of the Thornydale Heights Homeowners Association in 1962; a representative of the “12 Step Team’ AA; life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Services will be Sunday, January 14, 1996 at 3:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave.

OBERG, Retha Elliott, age 73, a 44 year resident of Tucson and a 29 year resident of Chugiak, AK, passed away January 11, 1996 in Tucson. Born July 9, 1922 in El Capitan, AZ. Survived by her daughters, Retha (Claude) Adams, Willie (Andy) Wash, and Janice (Ronald) Gilmore; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Jack Brittain; sisters, J.A. Brittain, Charlotte Knox, Bertha Cheely, Zell Shaw, and Hazel Smith. Predeceased by husband, Louis Herbert Elliott; son, Herbert William “Sonny’ Elliott; and daughter, Sherry Linda Elliott. Visitation will be held Monday, January 15, 1996 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.

PULVER, James W., 77, died January 10, 1996. Husband of Laura Pulver; father of Mieko (Jim) Po of WA, David (Josie) Pulver of Scottsdale, AZ and Denise (Charles) Berger of Tucson; grandfather of Amy and Tai Po, Kristine and James Berger, and Lee and Megan Pulver. Funeral Service 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 15 at BRING’S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, with Rev. Mark McGrath officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Pulver was a very active member of Victory Assembly of God; an Army veteran and taught school for 31 years. The family suggest donations to Far East Broadcasting. RICHTER, Lillian Marie, 88, of Tucson, died January 11, 1996. Preceded in death by husband, Ernest Richter, 1979. Survived by sons, Neil (Joice) Richter, Lyle Richter, both of Tucson, Dean (Joane) Richter of Ben Lomond, CA; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Services Tuesday 1:00 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY, with Pastor Philip Koelpin of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment East Lawn Cemetery. VANWORMER, Ferne Alberta, 83, loving mother and grandmother, entered into rest January 11, 1996, after a long illness. Preceded in death by beloved husband of 53 years, Ray; great granddaughter, Jennifer Reeves; three brothers, Earl, Clare, and Clifford Howe. She is survived by daughters, Barbara (George) Matthews, Beverly (George) Lewis; grandchildren, Sue (Sam) Reeves, Shirley (Steve) Callahan; sister, Frances (John) Bowerman; sisters-in-law, Rose Howe, and Kathlene O’Malley, all of Tucson; grandchildren, Sharon (John) Victors, Sandra (Steve) Farris of AK, Julie Lewis DeWitt of NV, Steven (Kim) Lewis of Glendale, AZ; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Floyd (Myrtle) Howe, Dorothy (Robert) Carlton, Carol Pritch, three of MI; sisters, Jeanne (George) Frisbie, KS; brother-in-law, Robert (Marion) Van Wormer of FL; numerous nieces and nephews. She was born in Michigan. Devoted to her family and church. Visitation will be Sunday, January 14, 1996 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Funeral Service will be Monday, January 15, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL. ZINOWICH, Andree Para, 81, of Tucson, died January 10, 1996. She is survived by daughter, Noelle (Richard) Kuhn, Tucson; grandson, Richie Kuhn and sister of Lake Havasu, Simone Osborne. Memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales, January 16, 1996, Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will be private. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY.
