Admiration for teen who returns wallet

Readers

Readers at www.tucsoncitizen.com reacted to the good-news story Wednesday about 17-year old Luis Jaramillo finding a wallet with $229 inside. Although he knew that money would be a big help to his ailing mother, he turned in the wallet instead. Here are some readers’ comments:

Finally a decent story to read about after all the garbage in this world.

This fine young man will do well in life with this type of character. This is a lesson to others who read the article.

- Nick C.

Good people like Luis and his family are so often modest that we don’t hear about the good they do unless someone else steps forward to shine the light. They know better than many of us that the good you do each day makes the world a better place.

- Mark B.

Ms. Jaramillo: Awesome job on raising such a fine young man!

- Eric J.

Our Digital Archive

This blog page archives the entire digital archive of the Tucson Citizen from 1993 to 2009. It was gleaned from a database that was not intended to be displayed as a public web archive. Therefore, some of the text in some stories displays a little oddly. Also, this database did not contain any links to photos, so though the archive contains numerous captions for photos, there are no links to any of those photos.

There are more than 230,000 articles in this archive.

In TucsonCitizen.com Morgue, Part 1, we have preserved the Tucson Citizen newspaper's web archive from 2006 to 2009. To view those stories (all of which are duplicated here) go to Morgue Part 1
